  • Community and environmental focus
  • $11 million to deliver projects over 10 years

Bayside Council and Sydney Airport have entered into a multi-million-dollar local partnership that will fund a number of community and environmentally based projects over the next 10 years.

The jointly established Community and Environmental Projects Reserve Fund will focus on delivering initiatives and key projects for the benefit of both the people of Bayside and the broader community.

The Mayor of Bayside, Councillor Bill Saravinovski, and Sydney Airport CEO Geoff Culbert said the establishment of this Fund was a big win for the Bayside community.

“Council has partnered with Sydney Airport to deliver a number of much needed programs and facilities,” Mayor Saravinovski said.

“These could include projects such as bike paths, improvements to the Cooks River water quality and construction or refurbishment of community facilities.

“As part of this partnership, together we will commit more than $11 million in the next 10 years to develop community and environmental initiatives for the benefit of the local communities. This is a big win for the people of Bayside.”

Sydney Airport CEO Geoff Culbert said: “The Fund is a fantastic opportunity to ensure ongoing investment in community and environment-focused initiatives for the people of Bayside and the broader community.

“We are really excited to partner with Bayside Council to support projects that will enrich the local community for many years to come.”

Both the Mayor and Mr Culbert agreed the list of possibilities was exciting and the focus would be on projects that deliver the greatest benefit to community.

Sydney Airport is also a major sponsor of the Bayside Arts Festival which is held each year in April and supports a variety of other charities, clubs and organisations in and around the local Bayside community.
